Quality & Workmanship

cable-TV

As a Libertarian with Objectivist tendencies legal monopolies make my blood boil. Time Warner Cable is a classic example. I thought I might share with you their handiwork.

Another thing about TWC that I find objectionable are their hiring practices.
I have never met a female installer or service tech. Just as I have never met a male customer service clerk in any of their offices.
There also seems to be a shortage of minorities on their payroll.

I once tried to get a job with the local Time Warner Cable to install Roadrunner in customers homes. I never heard back from them so maybe the fact that I am a woman had some bearing. The wiring in the pictures you showed is atrocious. I have never seen such a mess. No wonder so many people have trouble with their internet as well as their television signal. All unused cables should be properly terminated. And all those splitters in between runs is a real concern, each splitter results in a dB lost of signal that will affect the reception or network speed.

A think a call to the home office with a complaint of the shoddy work by their technicians is in order.

Don’t even get me started on them. They are the reason I still don’t have my own internet. “You’re building isn’t wired for cable.” Oh really? Then why is there a cable outlet in every single room, and my neighbors have cable no problem?

I’m trying again tomorrow, we’ll see how it goes. And for the record, I DID speak to a male on the phone. He wasn’t at all helpful, but that’s another story…
