Content Theft

There are times when imitation is NOT the sincerest form of flattery.
I don’t mind if someone likes one of my photos and saves on their computer for their own viewing. I don’t mind if someone reposts something I say or shoot and offers their perspective, that’s fair use.
What I do mind is when someone copies my entries and accompanying photos, reposts it on their blog, implies it is their work and then puts google advertising on their blog to earn THEM money!
Google emailed me the procedure, it must be in legal format including specific sentences that they sent me and it must be submitted to them via fax or s-mail. Needless to say I will go to the media before I will go through that BS without legal representation.
In the mean time the site involved continues to earn money with google ad sense or whatever their advertising program is. I pointed out to google that since they share in the profits from the offending site and host it they may have some liability in this whole thing now that they have been informed of the theft.
I have also made a few changes here at wordpress. I have cut the RSS feed to 1 (0 was not allowed) and only as a summary. I have also blocked access via search engine. That may cut my hits here but who cares, the people that matter know how to find my site (blog).
