Crazy Camera Lady
I’ve been reading quite often about photographers being harassed by police & others in the name of national security. Be warned, if you are in public view with anything resembling a serious camera you are a suspect and subject to harassment, interrogation, and a bunch of other things I will not bother with right now. Just for the record taking pictures in a public place of anyone or anything is a constitutionally protected first amendment right. There is no right to privacy in a public place. Now that the PSA is out of the way let’s get on with today’s frivolity.
I made two trips downtown this afternoon. One to bring my new neighbor to a near emergency doctors appointment and the second two hours later for my roommates regular appointment. Usually when I am out and about I have my C3000 tucked away in my purse. Whenever I have to wait for someone I usually stay in the car and snap away without anyone objecting. I also own an original Canon 300D digital rebel that I never take out of the house. There is no way on earth that I could afford to replace it if it were damaged or stolen so it it only used for special occasions and at home. Today was the exception, on my second trip downtown the rebel went with me.
There I am on this beautiful warm sunny day sitting in my car legally parked fiddling with my camera. As you can see from the photos below this was really a top secret covert mission. Crazy camera lady is only a cover, I am really top secret black ops government agent on assignment to photograph the mother ship when it lands outside the local clinic. Next thing I know a uniformed security officer is heading my way. He looks in the car and asks me what I am taking pictures of. I tell him I an just testing my camera. He tells me that someone reported a women in a car taking pictures and he was sent to investigate. He also tells me that I can’t take pictures of this establishments clients. I tell him I am not taking pictures of clients and I happen to be a client of this particular establishment. With that he goes back exactly the way he came and I go back to fiddling with my camera. At least he was nice about it.

The Crazy Camera Lady
Unbeknown to anyone (until this moment) is that the evidence was photographed on my first trip using my well worn C3000, it was transferred to a micro SD card now located somewhere in this very almost salad and is being flown by fighter jet to area 51 for detailed analysis.

Crazy camera lady? Yup, and damn proud of it!

I am really tired of this BS we now have to face in our lives. It was part of my “If you want my vote” post in my blog. People need to finally stand up and say “I am not going to take it any more!” I did not give up my rights and Congress did not have the authority to take them from me! It is time we stood up and tell the SOBs that we still have our Constitution and by hell they will abide by it!
