A Lovely Evening
Despite monsoon like rains, lightning, thunder and flooded roads it was time for a night out. I met up with Marcie at the Ninety Nine about 6:30. Good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, overall a rather nice place, first time I have been there. I’m not one to experiment with food and I hate anything with sauce of any kind on it. I thought I would play it safe with a burger and fries but sure enough right there on the menu next to the word burger was the word sauce. The waiter was really nice as I explained I preferred my burger plain. Another reason I never order anything fancy when I am out for dinner is I talk way too much so I am always the last one finished. Last night was no exception.
When I finally shut up and finished my diet Pepsi we decided to head over to Pier One Imports for a little shopping. Once we looked at just about everything in the store I found a cute rubber ducky key chain that lights up, my roommate collects key chains so I had to get it for her. Then we were off to Starbucks for a healthy dose of caffeine. The 22 ounce espresso I ordered was fantastic. The barista is an old friend of mine and he treated us to a cherry pastry, no charge. Wired from the espresso I could have chatted the entire night away. Marcie works the night shift so we parted when it was time for her to leave for work. I took a slow drive home, it was still raining but it didn’t matter, it was a great evening.
My big news of the evening was that my therapist is forwarding my completed profile to my surgeon. Baring any unforeseen disasters this means I can set a date for my surgery as soon as I can get my hands on a passport. That could be as early as September.
Tonight’s picture was taken this evening in Starbucks. Available light photography has always fascinated me. This one was 1/13 sec. @ F2.8 hand held, ISO 800 from my point and shoot.

Sounds like a great night.
