Pizza Variation
Every now and then those cooking shows on television inspire me to try something a little different. Being the picky eater that I am even the experiments are rather basic. I love to make my own pizza but I hate the mess it makes. I set out to create a one mixing bowl, one pan no mess pizza. No flour all over the kitchen, no waiting for yeast to bubble or dough to poof.
Armed with a few ideas and a medium plastic mixing bowl I added a couple cups of plain old flour, a couple teaspoons of baking powder, a handful of corn meal, some olive oil, a bit of baking soda, a bit of salt, and a splash or two of cold water as needed to make an easy to handle dough. Once the dough was pressed onto a standard pizza pan it was brushed with tomato paste and covered with part skim low fat cheese.
In a 500 degree oven for around 15 min this is what I ended up with:
