This Was

I started thinking about this yesterday when I read the pictures of pictures post at Shutter Sisters. Somehow the whole thing exploded this afternoon into a slice of my photography history. Some of the photos go back almost 40 years. All of the photos were taken by me. Many were developed, processed and enlarged by me. All kinds of cameras, 110, 35mm, & 120 (6 x 6). There is a whole lot there to look at so I made the image clickable to enlarge for a better view. Over the years I’ve done all kinds of pictures. These are just a few samples, most from the pre-digital, pre-autofocus pre-auto everything days.

Inspiration

Todays Shutter Sisters entry is about, you guessed it, inspiration. Debbie at SCHINKER’S SHUTTERBUG SITE listed me as an inspiration. (Thank you Debbie)

When I began adding photos to my blog entries last year it was for one simple reason. To let you, the wonderful people that visit, see what I see from wherever I happen to be. I love to experiment with pictures, I’ll push every button on the camera just to see what happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

So, who inspires me? Everyone, I want to see everything. It doesn’t matter to me if you get paid five thousand dollars a portrait or use an eight year old P&S like I do, I want to see what you see, every chance you get.

I also want to say thank you to every one of you. I love all your photos. I love to see people experience the joy of photography & the discovery process that goes along with it. The learning process (that never ends), the technical hurdles, and all the wonderful things we experience along the way.

Music

How could we live without it? I would be willing to bet many of you have an ipod or MP3 player in your backpack, purse, briefcase, camera gear bag or otherwise ready for use at a moments notice.

Music is always there for us anytime we want or need it. It takes a thousand shapes and forms to fit every whim, occasion or mood. What would life be without music? Perish the thought, it is ours to enjoy to eternity and perhaps longer.

So I dedicate my slice of this Love Thursday to the magic in the music that is the love that goes into making it.

Happy Love Thursday!!!

PS: Just in case you weren’t there in 1966, a classic shindig clip, yes I remember it well. (LOL)
